Well, my 2001 K1200LT is $118/year for full coverage, so I imagine the S might be a little more....maybe $150/year. :D

Mark,
You should *really* check this out before you get a K1200S (or any "performance" bike). When I bought my K1200RS two years ago Progressive hit me with a $1,200 premium!! After clearifying some mistakes on their part and going for a $1,000 deductable, I got it down to about $560/yr - and that's with only one ticket and having three other bikes insured with them. I found it interesting they wanted much less to insure a K1200GT. Right, same damed bike with a heated seat and more plastic, but the premium was a bunch cheaper (forget how much).
A year before I got the K12RS I bought a 1990 K1. I was with Dairyland at the time and they wanted $1,800 for NINE MONTHS additonal coverage for that policy period. They notified me they would not renew the policy if the K1 were on it. Why? They said it was a "super bike". Right, 100hp and 12 years old and it's a super bike. Progressive only wanted $250/yr, so I switch to them and ended up saving enough on the rest of the bikes to almost pay for the K1 premium.
When an insurance company rates a bike (or car) that vehicle lives with that for the rest of it's life, so check this out and shop around. A 168hp motorcycle is not going to be cheap even with no tickets, but some companies may be far more reasonable than others.

I've been down the black listed bike insurance headaches, rode a '84 VF1000F Interceptor in high school and college.
Vehicle: 1984 Honda VF1000F Interceptor
Engine: Honda 998 cc V-4
Horsepower: 113.8 bhp @ 9,200 rpm
Torque: 74.7 ft-lbs. @ 8,500 rpm
0-60 mph: 3.0 sec.
1/4 mile: 10.83 sec. @ 125.69 mph
Top Speed: 146.82 mph (red-line limited)
Just what every 18 year old should own and ride, (3rd bike though, not a learner model).
Its funny, the wife loved to ride on the back of it, but hates the LT????.
