hi everybody, my name is cliff and i love cereal.
hi cliff.
yup, my love affair with cereal started when i was but a wee one. mm, mmm good. i like to mix different kinds of cereal, but never more than three kinds in one bowl. i likes cereal purt near any time of day unless i am asleep. i love to put nannas or blueberries or strawberries in my cereal and what i really, really like is drinking the milk from the bottom of the bowl.
my current top five cereals:
1. honey nut cheerios
2. life (original flavor)
3. grape nuts (like to sprinkle them on other brands and ice cream)
4. honey bunches of oats
5. frosted mini-wheats.
so, what kinna cereal do you boys and girls like?
Hodag

1. frosty flakes (if I'm feeling crazy I use chocolate milk)
2. peanut butter cap'n crunch (dry or with milk)
3. cap'n crunch crunch berry
4. Golden grahams with extra honey on top
5. Granola with hot milk
I prefer eating mine sitting outside on our front step with my little girl, we call it eating hobo style.

OK, here goes, in no particular order:
Peanut Butter Crunch. - Been eating it since I was ten or so. Yummy.
Cocoa Pebbles - It leaves a really nice bowl of chocolate milk when you're done inhaling all the sugar
Smart Start - Yeah, it's cereal for chicks, but the protein stuff they put in there actually helps me think before lunch
Just Right - Mmmm. Raisins and dates with crunchy stuff
Frosted Raisin Bran - Yeah baby.
I'm the same way - I can eat cereal any time of the day. I think I inherited that from my mom who would eat a bowl of cereal at night, long after dinner, as a snack. Maybe it's because I still love to drink milk?
Hot cereals? No way. I call it Goatmeal and Cream of Feet. Tina loves the stuff, but it makes me want to gag.

I could eat cereal for every meal. Never thought of mixing them, though. Look out!!!! :p
1. Reese's peanut butter (better with chocolate milk)
2. Capn Crunch Crunch Beeries
3. Post Raisin Bran (has to be Post)
4. Cheerios (all flavors)
5. Golden Grahams
Unfortunately, I now pretty much eat only the healthier, low sugar, high fiber cereals. Can't remember the last time I had one of the above. :cry

that is where the mixing part comes in. you take your favorite sugary cereal (in my case prolly honey nut cheerios) and you mix it with your unexciting healthy kinda stuff (say fer instance grape nuts) then you have the joy of sugary sweet with the sensibility of healthy stuff.
it is the GS of cereals!!!

2. Capn Crunch Crunch Beeries
Is this Cap'n Crunch with a Pabst Blue Ribbon poured on it?

Hmmmm. I thought mixing the cereals was a good idea, but not so sure about using beer instead of milk. I did witness my brother-in-law have cereal with beer once. :hungover Didn't look to appealing to me, though. Who knows. Maybe I'm missing out on a good thing. :dunno

My, this is a difficult decision....how to limit to the top five....
I guess I'm a dull boy...
1. Plain 'ol Cherrios (smothered in sugar)
2. Puffed Wheat (ditto on the sugar)
3. Cracklin' Oat Bran (but these are a rare treat as they cost as much as caviar)
4. Shredded wheat and Bran (for my low sodium diet)
5. Frosted Mini Wheats (helps to mix with #4)
I, like El Dookey, love to drink the sugar enriched milk from the bottom of the bowl (confession time...my wife doesn't like to drink the milk from the bottom of the bowl...many times I have been tempted to take it form the sink and finish it!)

Cereal is a wonderful food, I love it any time. Mine are in no particular order.
Golden Grahams
Capn' Crunch (aged in milk, till it sticks together, and nice and soft)
Blueberry Morning (twig and berry cereal)
Cocoa Chrispies
Raisin Bran
The milk at the bottom of the bowl is is awesome, and leaving some soggy cereal in to slurp up is an extra treat.

There is no superior cereal to Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch. I'm sorry for all of you that think otherwise. Seriously though, it's about the only cereal that I'll eat. I have a lot of good memories of waking up on Saturday morning at Grandma's to watch cartoons and have a huge breakfast with eggs bacon and Cap'n Crunch. It was a special treat because my mom didn't allow my brother and I to have super sugary cereals, mainly becuase it's nothing but crap and because my brother is hypoglycemic. We used to have Honey Nut Cheerios all the time, but that was the only thing we got remotely sugary, and to this day I can't stand to smell them. So whenever I eat a bowl of peanut buttery goodness, I think about being a little kid again, sitting on the easy chair at Grandmas in my underoos and one of my Grandpa's way too big t-shirts (usually with a picture of Yellowstone on it), watching cartoons with my little brother, and my Grandma. :)

Graham Crackers in milk.......My last name is Graham...its a name sake thing.
Just heard of that for the first time last weekend. A friend's daughter was eating it. Apparently, it has to be the full graham crackers and she has to break them up herself. No mini-grahams allowed. Crazy!
I am learning all kinds of things about cereal from this thread! :clap

I don't eat cold cereal. But I keep getting this urge to fill a bowl with Sixlets and milk and going to town on it. I think that Sixlets are the genetically engineered perfect M&M . When it comes to a candy coated chocolate bite size bit, Sixlet finishes off better than the M&M in my eyes. There I said it.

1) Honey Bunches of Oats, regular (the strawberry is wierd)
2) 3/4 Grape Nuts, 1/4 Quaker Natural. The Quaker Natural is so full of sugar and saturated fats, that the health food people say you should never eat it at all. It sure tastes good, tho.
The Honey Bunches of Oats is eaten without milk. Number two is dry mixed and soaked in skim milk for about 10 minutes so I don't break any teeth on the Grape Nuts.
Ya, I am wierd. :D :D

4 cups of old fashioned Quaker Oats (not instant)
1 cup of sliced almonds
1/4 cup flax seeds
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
1/4 cup hulled sunflower seeds
1/2 teaspoon of cinammon
1/8 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup of honey
Stir together mixing thoroughly and spread out (the mixture, wise guy) on greased cookie sheets.
place in preheated 300 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. remove from oven, crumble up and mix in a generous handful of raisons. Store in container and serve with milk. Tastes good and gives great bowel movements. LOL

1) Grape Nuts O's
2) Captain Crunch Berries
3) Cookie Crisp
4) Alphabets!
5) (there is no 5)
I always go for the Grape Nuts Os. I usually get something like parmesan cheese-its, or some other snack food like that, and mix them up. Might sound bad, but try it before you pass judgement. :) That combination travels well too, is extremely easy to make, and combines something kinda nutritious with snack food to make it go farther.. (Good bike noshies)
(Disclaimer : all cereals are eaten dry, sometimes by hand, more as a morning snack than a sit-down event.)

Hmmm, when I was in fifth grade I was bonkers for Wheaties. Oddly enough though the amount of sugar I added to a bowl of them kept creeping up until it became unfeasable. To this day I still can't eat Wheaties.
Nowadays I start the day with the instant version of McCann's Irish Oatmeal, or one of the other similar products found at the local gourmet supermarket. I haven't had the sugary stuff in so long that I wonder if my tastes in it would still be the same.
BTW since Graham crackers were mentioned, I find it amusing that Dr. Graham invented them in the belief that a properly nourished child would not be inclined to masturbate. I guess Victorian morality had at least one good by-product.

I'm not that fanatic about cereal, however my little sister is addicted to Kashi's Heart to Heart cereal:

Exactly what I think Grape Nuts tastes like plain, unsweetened cardboard. That's why I mix in the Quaker Natural, for some flavor. :thumb

No - that would be:
1) Cyctitis (primarily affects women)
2) Chlamydia
3) Crabs
4) Gonnorhea
5) Syphyllis
Grape Nuts can be eaten post-onset with any of these conditions.

For the last 20 yrs or so, I've eaten the same mix of ceral every work day: Grape Nuts(or whatever the local generic is for it like Nutty Buddies), Granola with Raisens and Just Right(but you can't get that any more so I use whatever has the most fruit in it.)
I break on the weekends and just eat cold pizza or Peanut butter n honey sandwiches.
