OK, thx for the info. Plz give us their address and telephone # so we can add it to our Anonymous Books. I'll diffenently add it to my list and I'll stop in and give them a visit as I get over to Birmingham several times a year. Your very fortunate to get a new BMW dealership to replace the old one. :thumb

Is there some continuity of ownership, or is Terry new to that dealership?

I stopped by Tuesday. Terry is now the parts manager there. The new address is:
7500 Crestwood Blvd (near old Century Plaza)
Birmingham, AL

Bringing Terry in is certainly a clever business move... lets hope it does mean a commitment to good service!

I just had an email from Terry's wife and apparently his association with BMW Birmingham hasn't worked out. They anticipate reopening Terry's 2 Wheel...

Was over in Birmingham yesterday and stopped in for a visit at BMW Motorcycles of Birmingham. Met James Carrigan the Sales Mngr. and Andy Carroll the Service Mngr.. Seemed like a nice place to do business. Looking at their service bay, seemed full of bikes getting serviced. Enjoyed the visit, looks like BMW riders in Alabama have a good dealership to deal with.

A friend and I had ridden to the 7th Annual Vintage Festival at Barber Motorsports Park this past weekend. I made it all the way to the parking lot of the museum on late Thursday afternoon before the fuel pump quit pumping on my '96 R1100GS.

I left the bike parked in the museum parking lot overnight and continued to out canpsite in the park. When I called BMW of Birmingham the next morning, I spoke with Andy the service manager. He dispatched a truck and trailer to pick up me and the bike. The dealership was about 10 miles from the motorsports park.

I met all the guys at the dealership that morning. Great bunch.

The problem was the fuel pump, and luckily they had a new one in stock. However, the new and only pump they had failed. Andy researched for a comparable automotive fuel pump for a GM car that --- by the way --- was about
$200 less.

For the short version, the pump worked and they had me out of there and back on the road a little after lunch.

This is a new, start-up dealership. If they continue in the same manner with courteous, professional service ---- they will have a great dealership.
