...in due time, of course

Of course I'll have pictures... it's just that my time machine is on the fritz right now. So you'll just have to wait until the Tech Day (http://surfcitytechday.crafty-fox.com) actually happens, first.

Ok, I have a few pictures. Over 50 people showed up, and I stopped taking pictures when I fired up the BBQ to cook hamburgers (or veggie burgers) for them.
The forecast had been for just a slight chance of rain on Friday, all the way up until Wednesday. Then on Thursday, the heavens opened, and kept at it through Friday. Saturday dawned with dark clouds in the sky, but by the time 10am rolled around, the sun was out and it was clearly going to be a great day.

For the first hour or so, people milled around, drank coffee and had muffins and donuts.

Then people got to work. Ted Porter, who was a mechanic at Bob's BMW, San Jose BMW, and Santa Cruz BMW, is now on his own (http://www.beemershop.com) and he came by and gave assistance on R&Ring this R65:

Greg Hutchinson put some braided steel brake lines on this K75.

Duane Ausherman held court about wheel bearings while we all admired Blaise's original paint R75/5.

And, of course, everyone gawked at all the different bikes.

Darryl, tech days was great and all that, but could you please have Heather take a picture of you shooting hoops in the driveway? I'd really like to see that. :D

Darryl, tech days was great and all that, but could you please have Heather take a picture of you shooting hoops in the driveway? I'd really like to see that. :DWould you really? It wouldn't be a sight of beauty. Of course, it came with the house, but since I acquired that big dealer sign, I've been thinking that it could easily be replaced...
Thanks for the pics, Darryl. Who owns that yummy ALL RED bike? That's Jim Houts' R69S. He has taken a great deal of abuse in the local vintage group; I think he installed and removed the crank about 8 times before the motor went back together and stayed that way. And he spent about a full time week touching up the shifter wheels in the transmission so that all six dogs on all the gears would all hit at the same time. Oh, and then he found out that the front swingarm was bent, and not just a little bit, after he had had it painted. So you can see, it has really been a labor of love for him.

Here's me lubing my rear splines. Greg Hutchinson supervised, letting me know the
torque setting for every nut and bolt I removed.

I'm totally and completely bummed I missed it. I really thought it was at the end of the month for some reason.

Thanks for sharing. Seeing these pictures is inspirational. Can't wait to get my R69S back on the road. Still troubleshooting and parts searching.
