I have an R115R '03 and I'm considering getting highway pegs. I've looked into the S-Curve, J-Peg and Elf pegs. So far I'm leaning toward the S-Curve's. Anyone out there have any experience with any of these or any other brands for that matter? Also considering lowering the riding pegs. Any favorite kits for that?

Thanks!!

I recently changed the standard footpegs to the Fastway Performance pegs on my 1100GS. For the regular footpegs that is.
Barbra at Alaska Leather turned me on to them. They have been a real Godsend for the longer trips around central PA.
Hope this info helps.

I have the ELF Pegs and have been real happy with them. The only caveat I will give you is that you need to think about what will happen if your bike gets knocked over. The ELF Peg did some damage to the cylinder head but nothing really crazy.

They don't belong on BMWs.

There is nothing ergonomic about sitting on your tailbone.

Moves foot away from brake pedal, although integrated braking addresses to pretect you from yourself.

Yea, but every person's body is a little different. With my knees, I need to straighten them out every so often. It is still possible to sit on the pelvis and not the cocyx if the bike is so fitted.

I have a set of GMT Moto "pegs"? They are really a rack that rides over the cylinders about an inch. You can hook your hells in them or just lay your calves on them. Very comfortable position and a great break and leg streach on the open highway when the day gets over 4 or 500 miles. I would agree that no highway pegs are a quality posture for long term riding but, for me, the ability to change positions instead of a rest stop are the key for racking up long mileage days. :bikes

I just dangle my feet every so often. I can flex my legs and get some blood flowing there pretty well.

Suburban Machinery makes a kit to lower the foot pegs on Roadsters.

When I'm on the highway and my legs need a stretch, I just lay them out on the cylinder heads. I wear leathers and the heat doesn't bother the pants as long as you're at highway speeds. Try it. You don't need highway pegs. Other guys I know who rider Beemers do the same thing.

Even with my 30" inseam, the pegs were too high for me, too, for longer rides. I considered lowering the pegs but that would put the pegs in my way when my feet were down--having a shorter inseam, my legs need to go straight down to reach the ground.

I solved the problem by purchasing Sargent Cycle's proprietary saddle for the R1150R. It's a bit taller than the stock seat, giving my knees a little less bend.

I used the S-curve pegs as they don't attach to the valve covers like the other pegs do. This could create leaks around the valve cover seal(s). I liked the way they looked and operated. They are easy to take off or put on. The only thing you need to get are two longer bolts that go into the engineblock near the beltcover.
