A co-worker of my wife's traded in a 1986 CCI Production R80 opened up to a R100 (by changing out the jugs/heads) with 30,690 miles on it. He had owned it for the last 15 yrs and bought it from the original owner in CA when it was 2 1/2 years old. It has been ported, dualed plugged, KN air filter, euro-switch, and some other mods along with some stainless steel parts. It also has a set of hard bags and a luggage rack. The original color is white and cowling is the only thing that has been repainted because of chips and bug gouges. The rims have also been painted white. The baby is clean and straight.

It was not until I started reading the post about the old airheads that I have taken an interest in this bike. I'm not sure but, I believe it may be a CS model. :dunno

The dealer allowed him $2250 on a new '03 Triumph this past December. I went to the dealer to inquire what he was asking for it even though I didn't tell him I new the history of the bike. The dealer's asking price was/is $4500. He has installed a new rear tire and a tune up and maybe a few minor things.

I told the saleman (he's the one that sold me my 1150GS last year) that I would offer the owner/dearler $3100 for it and he told me to wait untill later this winter when thing got a little slower.

So I ask the forum....Is it worth it???

How bout some feedback??

I got the R80ST completely stock, with 10k miles for what you are offering.

I think $3100 is a very reasonable price for that bike.

I have agree $3100 is very reasonable, I'd even go higher if needed, depending how badly I wanted it/condition.

Looking at the prices of airheads, that is. I'd say $3100 is an OK offer.

It will be sitting at the dealer for awhile at $4550, even as the weather warms up.

Figure out what you'd really be willing to pay for it, set that as your max, and don't fret too much about it. Buy it because you want it, and will ride it, not as an investment.
