Whhon,
Sorry to see you go, I have had the same feelings myself at times.
I think we have lost most of our social skill's due to the anonymity of the internet.
We see it in emails & forums all the time now, people saying things that they would never say face to face.
Some people just want to poke sticks at you to see the reaction they will get.
I for one am a lurker for the most part now, I was tired of being flamed for saying how I have fixed things & did it for very little money or making a part from another vehicle that worked very well instead of buying the "Official BMW Part" at 10 times the price.
I have asked questions & have received a very helpful answer very quickly, so for the most part I enjoy reading the forums & learn a great deal.
In some other forums they post "Don't feed the trolls" When they feel somebody is just trying to stir thing up, so don't reply to their comments if you see that.
Ok that is it for me, I will return to lurking now.
Mike

I haven't read your other post, which I'll do now to see what transpired. I am not a fan of the Internet, but I do see it's value in gathering information for certain things rather than hit the libraries, which I have found to be lax recently in having anything I need for reference purposes. Sorry "they" "bugged you" . . . . as being a part of MOA was supposed to bring camaraderie. . . . I guess that is not always true, due to some "bad apples" along the way. I will continue to lurk also. Be well guys and don't let those who are heartless get you down . . . . they're good folk out here to. . . we simply remain silent rather than get into "a tizzy" with someone. . . it's not worth the aggravation at all.

Cheers!

Don't leave...

Just don't take anything seriously from anyone.
I kept getting into it with people and learned not to respond in any negative way, because it just snowballs into a big issue.

BTW, my problems have been on the adv site, not here.

Sorry to see you go. There are a few bad apples in almost any sizable group of people - they just seem to be much intent on proving their animosity toward others on the internet.

Also - I've received some excellent help from some folks on here - so if you stand ignoring those who flame you, it will probably be worth it!

no need to leave. relax, chill out, and don't take things quite so personally.
my comment was meant entirely in fun- so my apologies if i ruffled your feathers with it.
(but yeah, your original post with no periods for about 5 or 6 sentences wasn't the easiest to follow. You added periods, its much better now, but that also means you recognized that it could be improved. to be honest, i really don't see this as such a big issue.)

While your original post might not have had the best punctuation, you advice and information was spot on.

That's what this forum is all about, good information, not good grammar or punctuation or (thank God) penmanship!

Stick around. The people on this tech forum are here to share and learn about these great bikes. You would be a welcome contributor.

I know, sometimes little comments made in fun don't feel so funny sometimes:stick, but give us a chance. We're a pretty friendly, and helpful bunch here.:buds

Honestly I would MUCH rather read a dozen posts with great info and less than perfect grammar and punctuation than a single post consisting wholly of someone pointing out grammar errors. Things like that are just simply better done by PM.

As Lee said, it is often hard to get across a wink and a smile - we are indeed for the most part quite a friendly bunch :)

Without these guys, I'd be over my head. I followed the valve thread you spoke of. If that ran you off, there must be other issues at play.

Alright like the title said venting steam.
Sorry to let that irk my goat.
I will in the future , do a better job of drafting any responce I may choose to share.

I really think you will enjoy and benefit from the information and camaraderie on this site. I really don't think anything was meant by the comments, just light teasing. Don't let it bug you.

If we meet on the road or at a rally, Let me buy the first round.:buds

I'm moving this thread to the forum discussion forum.. (sounds repetitive) AKA "Online Central" since it has nothing specifically to do with K bikes..

Glad to see you've decided to stay. This site's a fabulous resource, with a ton of guys with near-infinite wisdom (myself not among them. what i know is very finite. :laugh)

hint- don't go posting on Advrider until you've gotten your toes wet over here. :wave

I don't understand the reluctance to visit and post over on ADV.:scratch Granted, the only forum I frequent over there is Old's Cool, but I have never been flamed. The answers I get are always spot-on, and no one has corrected my spelling, punctuation, or wordsmithing.

ADV Rider seems to have many personalities and what you get largely depends on where you visit. I stick to the Alaska forum where most of the posters are known to each other, or I visit the Americas forum where folks are pretty cordial. I find many of the other areas to be populated by the internet equivalent of the barroom bully.

I ride and work on motorcycles.
if you don't agree with what I say ,that's cool.
Put your opinion out there, let the masses decide .
I will admit I have not gone back to see if either of you have ever given a helpfull
bit of advice. lets hope this is not how you always spend your time.

I think they're skeered of JoMomma.

It's rough in there, but better than it was a ways back. Some of the old salt have moved on cuz they think it's been watered down with n00bs.

I live for the Ride Reports there.
