made a run out to the gold fields today - this area is about 10,000 acres of rocks - hundreds of ponds - all have bass in them - this area has been sealed off for years - finally last year a judge told the mining company that they didn't have the right to gate a country road! so after all these years the public finally has the right to access at least part of this special place - the River you see is the Yuba River - we have a 5 mile section that has one of the highest native rainbow trout population in the US - we have fly fisherman coming from all over the US to fly fish it now :) this is about 10 miles from my house - lot's more pic's on my home page - - in the GS100 folder - enjoy - tommy

Man o man that sounds like a cool place. Not to get too off-topic, but that's nice-looking GS! I dig the clean simple look of it.

you know veg it's starting to grow on me - i'm not sure yet if i'm going to add some contrast or not - normally i'm not big on blue - i was thinking of going with a corbin black seat and some black or dark blue on the tank - but try to keep it the old girl simple & keep the clean look - tommy

Tommy - I've been thinking lately about something dirt road capable and let me tell you, that GS of yours is definitely inspiring! Sharp bike!
Hey, your trail Sportster ain't bad either.

Clean uncluttered style can be enhanced with magnetic flames. They make your bike look like you've really pimped out the classic design and get Beemer Snobs in a huff. That sounds like fun. :stick
Off topic, I am sitting in my office, and Mt. St Helens is burbing gas and steam about 60 miles north of here.

well my dirt bike got stole - i really like going out for a few hours & get away from everything - i have my jeep but when bikes are in your blood - you just don't have a choice & since all of a sudden i have everything from BMW coffee cup's to BMW underware there wasn't many options - i did make 3 trips to the KLR dealer - but i just didn't want to carry a step ladder - i didn't want to put out 10 grand for a Darkar & sure the hell didn't want to spend the dollars on a new GS to putt around the woods at 20 MPH sooooo i started thinking old school - used - clean - I go to the net & bingo - theres a 89' GS about 10 miles from my house for sale - only problem it had 73K on it - i made an appointment to see it - looked pretty good - took it for a ride - ran great - had service records since day one - didn't smoke - clutch felt fine - trans felt good - the guy wanted 3,200$ for it - i offered him 2500$ - he said nope - if he couldn't get 3 out of it he would keep it - so crap - i had 3 grand in my pocket - so that was that - i still have a hard time calling a GS a dirt bike - but for logging roads good gravel roads it does the job - i have been able to handle the bike off road but i don't ride as hard as i did in years past - now i have the hots for a toaster - this could get expensive - my wife says no more bikes unless she gets a bigger house - :dunno
