My '04 RT maintenance manual indicates that maintenance schedules can be accessed at www.bmw-motorrad.com/maintenance . For the last few months it redirects to a response, "Unfortunately we cannot offer this online service anymore due to technical reasons. Please contact your BMW Motorrad dealer for questions regarding motorcycle and equipment specific
maintenance schedules." Fortunately for me, I saved a pdf of the schedule I needed.

The bmwmotorcycles.com website used to show clothing and accessories. Now it, too, directs you to a BMW dealer. Like many others, I got a CD from BMW showing these items, but it still was nice to be able to access the info (including pricing for much of it) online.

I like visiting my dealer, but it seems the moguls at BMW are doing everything they can to force me to do so. :dunno

I have a hunch it is part of their movement to migrate people to go to a dealership and support their local dealers. However for those of us who do not have a local dealer, it really doesn't help.

Should find what you're looking for here (http://www.irvseaverbmw.com/jsps/service.jsp). This is a dealer website and has the info in PDF. I'm sure other dealers would have this, too. Good luck! :D

Scary how BMW pushes clients to dealers, while pulling the rug from underneath some of them at the same time :cry .

Tom, Thanks for the link. I noted the R-bike maintenance schedule on Irv Seaver's site has an '02 print date, while the one I downloaded from the BMW site has an '03 date. A quick comparison didn't show much difference; I didn't see the ELAST belt mentioned on the old one.

It's nice to know I can get helpful information from this website, even if I can't get it from BMW! :)
