All of us have little surprises, close to where we live, that few will ever discover unless they live in the area. That's what this thread is about; sharing that gem which is close to you that we'd never know about otherwise.
Mine is a little spring about 10 miles from the house. Its 9 miles of all-weather, unpaved backroad and one mile of highway to get there, but the reward is the best tasting water I've ever drunk. Every couple of weeks, I load the dogs and the water jugs into my old Jeep and drive out to the spring.

While the dogs run free, I fill several 6gal containers to take home.

Rumor has it this spring was "discovered" when they laid out the county roads; it is right in the middle of the right-of-way. A springbox was put in and a pipe was laid over to the side of the road. That was in the late 1800's. The water's been flowing ever since. I've been drinking it since '97 after being let in on the "secret". When I go for rides exploring this part of the county, it is always a pleasure to stop and refill the water bottles with cool, fresh water. But if you don't have a bottle with you, no problem. There's always a cup hanging on the fence.
