Anyone out there know if there'll be a rally this spring in Tejas? I've been out of touch for awhile and sure would like to hang around with some like minded folks.
Unfortunately, my GSA is no longer mine but I would like to exercise the R90/6:D

Sounds good. I'll be there (unless I'm in Afganistan) as I had a good time last year. Maybe we'll see a tent try to escape again this year.:doh

Ya, I think the only guy that could have save the tent, prefered instead to take the picture. Nice way to break in a new tent though.

It will probably be the R75 as we are still awaitning calipers and master cylinder from England for the R90. Stainless steel linings on those puppies.
Just did a service yesterday on the R75 and she's purring!

Since This a Texas "National" and Texas is like a whole different "Country" and I would like to attend from Kansas. Do I need to bring a passport? Harold in Kansas.

I've been to this rally and highly recommend it. This bunch will help you consume all you bring, foreign and domestic. :buds

Lonestar changed hands a lot in the late 70's and 80's...from Olympia owned to Heileman's in Wisconsin to Strohs who axed the brand...bought back by Pabst in 1999 and I believe brewed by Miller for them in Ft Worth along with Pearl...long story but haven't considered it "domestic" since the Armadillo days or was that daze? :groovy And who owns Budweiser these days...you are right it could be considered an import!

Now Shiner Bock from down the road or even closer in my back yard
Real Ale Brewing Company...I like the Firemans 4 in the summer, the Brewhouse Brown Ale is not shabby either...found locally, maybe in Llano as well.

I had to miss the one last year and have been looking forward to this one since. If you will look at the "Ride Review" thread on this forum you will see an excellent blog with pics on a man that did a ride around this area on an airhead GS. Great reading and I'm making a route through part of where he went and stayed with plans to ride part of his ride.
I'd welcome the company if anyone wants to ride along. We'll do the ride on Saturday and I'll be riding a R 1200 RT or possibly my F 650 GS. I'm going to be with the Dallas/Ft. Worth group so look me up. I'll be open to suggestions.

I had a great time at the rally last year! My first exposure to the Texas BMW crowd! I can't wait to get back out there in a few weeks! See you all by the river!

I'm thinking of bringing an inflatable blow-up tent just for safety's sake.

Still time to head this way... Weather looks great all weekend, wildflowers are OK, not as spectacular as last year, but still a great area to ride.

Steve,
Kudos to all your compadres for setting up a great rally once again.:bow
When I got home, I gingerly extracted the "nail" from my rear tire and waited for the "s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s" It never happened and after 3 days more of riding it is still holding at 40psi. It actually was the end of a screw!
The carb tune up lesson was great and after cleaning the main jet on the left, it runs very nicely.
On a sad note, Monday I got laid off due to a realignment as a result of the defense budget cutbacks. Ah Well.
Gives me time for a bike trip to NC and back for a visit with my son and daughter in law.:)
Thanks again for a great rally.
Dave

I agree, a great event once again! Thanks to all that worked to put it together and made it another wonderful experience!
Glad to hear the tire was OK after the "nail" was removed, sorry to hear about the job. Have fun on your trip though, and remember if you ever want to hand over the title to that beautiful Airhead, I'll take it off your hands!
Thanks again, everyone, see you all on the road!
