Does anyone still make an aftermarket exhuast (headers and mufflers) for a 87 R80. Is Luftmeister still around? :dunno

Check any local bike dealer that orders from Parts Unlimited. There are a couple brands out there. Do you wan 2-into-1, 2-into-2? Also, Dennis Kirk is the mail-order branch of Parts.

I would like to stay with the stock look. I'll go back to stock if need be. That center muffler is big$$$. I really just need the stock headers and the center muffler, the two rear mufflers are in good shape.

There are a bunch of good suppliers of after market exhaust systems. Be advised to expect retail $+

this link is for Epco. They are an American company who make good quality mufflers in polished stainless. The sport muffler fits well and looks sharp it is a reverse megaphone glasspack like an old Norton pipe. I boght the sport mufflers for my 82 RS and can't wait to hear how they sound.

the link above is for staintune. They are Australian and also make a first quality exhaust system.

The link above is for Bub. They are also American and they are serious about performance. I did not see BMW on their web page, but I know they have supplied pipes for air heads.
If you can find a good condition Luftmiester 2 into 1 system I know they fit well, sound great and look just fine. (IMHO) :type

I've had good luck with the Staintune mufflers I installed so long ago I can't remember when. They look like stock, and sound like stock. They just don't rust out like stock.

Whatever mufflers you choose, please--keep it quiet. Noise annoys.
