With all the talk about adding accessory lights to your bike I had an idea. Is it possible to get the European headlight switch and install it back into your switches. You could use the switch to turn on your accessory lights while leaving the low beam hard-wired to On.
Can you order one of these from a dealer in Europe? I'm guessing you would have to order the whole unit.

That would be hot. I'll bet the Euro right bar control unit is prob $500 or something though.

They're not that expensive. $150? I'm having a hard time remembering the right price, but they're not that expensive. Your local dealer can order it for you if you have the part number.

Is that similar to the Autoswitch?

Sorta in that they can be used for the same thing. They go about it in different ways.

The Euro-switch just a manual sliding switch that allows you to run without the headlight (actually, your 90/6 may have this switch), that mostly went away from US-spec bikes when we were required to burn headlights all the time. This switch is handy on Airheads because the battery doesn't run down so quickly while poking around town, but is mostly unnecessary on the newer bikes with their more robust electrical systems.

The Autoswitch is a little waterproofed toggle switch that enables you to turn on a circuit by flashing the high beam switch. For the price its pretty cool.

I didn't see a switch for my bike. Do you guys think BMW even offers the R1150R in Europe?

I did that on my former K100RS. If you look at the Euro switch next to the stock swithc, you'll see a jumper in the stock switch plug that keeps the lights on all of the time. I added the jumper to the euro switch and then had the 2 switch controlled wires available to trigger driving lights. I have some pics somewhere. Here's the first, I'll add the others.

Here's the last one. I don't remember which wire did what, but a little work with a meter will tell you that.
