K-Guard Heat Shields

Hi,

I've been trying to buy and/or locate a set of K-Guard heat shields (http://hometown.aol.com/bmwkguard/myhomepage/business.html) for almost a year for my early 1987 K100RS. The manufacturer has not made a run of these for some time and I've been unable to contact him with this question.

I'm trying to find out if the later K-Guards will work with the earlier model and what the difference is that would prevent this like slight fairing differences, coil cover bolting, etc. Does anyone here know?

This is the way they're listed on the manufacturer's site:

K100RS....Up to 7/87................KG100-30
K100RS....7/87 and up.............KG100-31
