I haven't had this problem before....

Today, I had to change out a front tire with a used tire that has some good tread left that a friend provided for me. When I tried to go balance the tire, it doesn't seem like I am getting it balanced. I currently have 8 - 7 ounce weights on the tire and it still need more weights. I'm using a Marc Parnes balancer. Is it normal to have a lot of weights on one rim as I already have 8 as it is? It is a front knobbie tire. Should I keep adding weights?

Thanks in advance.

It is possible that the wear on the tire is uneven, meaning it will be hard to balance. You could try to turn the tire 180 degrees on the wheel and see if that helps.
