Let's not get too harsh with Tommy. Take pity on the poor bloke. Perhaps he gets some enjoyment out of an early end to winter, but remember......., he has to live in California the rest of the year. ;)

Well I guess I gotta ride this weekend to get some 'rounder' points, :laugh as the temps will be in the 50's during the 'cold' front that's passing through today. :D

Tommy-
I'm up in Oregon. I went for a ride today and I have to say, that although there was no snow on the ground in the valley it was pretty chilly. My hands took about an hour to warm up after I returned home. I remember Feb. in Northern California being very nice, with the illusion of spring, then in March another onslought of downpours. That was on the coast, you are a bit inland, so maybe Winter really is over for you.
I think we get a little spoiled here on the west coast. Go for a nice bike ride on Sat. then Skiing on Sunday.
I can't complain. :brow

Hi Honu - we have a huge snow pac in the mountains this year - what we don't need is 80 degree weather all of a sudden and warm rains - if that snow melts to fast, some of us here in the valley could be in big trouble this year - all that white stuff melts & runs down hill & i'm at the bottom of the hill - it could get interesting - in the mean time i got in a great ride today - got to visit an old hi school buddy who i saw for the 1st time in 40 years a month ago - he just sold his LT and bought a new K1200GT - he is really a happy camper with the GT - just fits him better - we hope to make a trip together this year - to Seattle - over the cascades - to Spokane - to Glacer & then back home - we both have friends & family on the route to visit - should be a fun trip! :D
Got in 245 great miles today. :clap
Just enough of a ride to keep my sanity in-check. :thumb
Tommy,
What was I thinking. You are in Marysville, south of Chico, by Yuba City. I should know that, I went to Graduate school in Chico. Broke my leg waterskiing in lake Oroville. For some reason I was picturing you on the coast, with your declaration of the end of winter. Not much snow on the valley floor in Marysville I imagine. We are still hoping for more snow here. I'm going cross-country skiing today and I know I will be avoiding many more rocks than usual. Between the motorcycle and the skiing, it leaves me a little conflicted about the weather.
If you are planning on heading up through Ashland and Medford with your trip this summer, you are welcome to drop in. I have an extra bedroom and right now an empty guest house (small studio deal in back). Unfortunately no garage, just a carport and tarps. I would be delighted to meet your wife (formerly pictured in bed) :stick
Sounds like a great trip.

I got 7" of unassembled snowballs today and the weather guessers are predicting 8-10" tomorrow. If anybody needs some for the Tommy attack, just let me know. You will have to assemble them yourselves and supply your own rocks. I haven't seen any rocks since early October and probably won't till April. :(

I was looking out the window at the neighbor's yard. They've got dogs. There is still yellow and brown snow that we can mix in with the rocks. Just for Tommy :stick !
