I just read about the new manual for the F-twins from Haynes.
I actually like having the factory and a Haynes type as between them it's easier to figure out what they were talking about. Gary http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/602

Hey Paul, How about a little review when you get it? Thanks, Gary

I can do that. I suspect I will like it. My favorite K75/K100 manual is a Haynes, my favorite Oilhead manual is a Haynes, and I just bought the Haynes F650 Singles manual. When available from more than one publisher I like to have two manuals so if something is confused/confusing in one I can figure it out with the other. Sometimes just the angle that a photo is shot from makes a huge difference.
I really liked the old style BMW manuals on CD which were really lots of .pdf file pages, easy to use on my little travel laptop. The F800 CD is interactive and requires the CD in the machine (or maybe more HD space than my travel laptop has - I haven't tried that), and my travel laptop does not have an optical drive.

Sounds Good :thumb . I usually need one to decipher the other but prefer paper. I'm in the middle of changing out 175' of hydraulic line in one of my trucks. If I was using computer info to do the job I would have to figure out how to keep the computer clean. I look forward to your review. Gary

Got mine yesterday. I'll beat Paul to the punch and provide a review. Great picture on the cover; good quality binding; and, not too heavy to use. Paul, feel free to fill in any gaps you see.

Have we got any more input on this book before I send Santa to buy himself a copy?

I haven't actually needed to use this manual for much yet but did read through some of it just to see how it compared to other, earlier Haynes manuals that I have.
The organization is good, the specifications appear to be accurate, and once you get past the British references like spanner and lumpy tickover it is easy to use.
I've always liked the Haynes manuals and think this one will be just fine.

I wish they would put torque values in the step in stead of refuring you to the front of the chapter for the value.

Different strokes. The table of values at the front of each chapter is a feature I have always really liked in the Haynes manual. Half the time I am not reading the step-by step in the chapter and just need the torque value. In Haynes it is easy to go to the front of the chapter. In my Clymer I have to work through the chapter looking for the right paragraph.
