Having just purchased my first BMW (R1150R), I wanted to join the MOA and network with fellow BMW owners. I'm 64 years old and haven't ridden in about 15 years so I'm taking it pretty easy. At the present I ride for 1-2 hours a day on the street and try to make sure I don't get into situations I'm not prepared to handle.

I absolutely love this bike but I have much to learn. Thanks for providing such a nice forum to learn and share ideas.

Thanks Johnny. I'm leaving for Florida in a couple of weeks for the winter but I'll definitely look into this club either before I leave or after I return. I appreciate the help.

Thanks to everyone for the support. I think "slow and easy" may describe me pretty well.

Thanks for the invite. I'll be here until mid-October if you want to connect. It would be great to exchange contact info for when I return (most likely May). We have a home in Eldorado if you are familiar with the area. Thanks again.

John G., In November the Sunbeemers hold a "Sun Your Buns Rally" in Venice, FL and in January BMWNEF holds a winter Rally at Camp Blanding, FL. The winter Rally is limited to 500 attendees. I had he pleasure of riding thru NM in August when returning home from OR. The first 40 miles of Rte 518 going from Taos to Las Vegas is one beautiful ride. Ride Safe :usa :usa

Hook up with the Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (MSTA) guys in the WPB/FTL area. We meet them every couple of weeks on long rides throughout south and central FL. You can find us on the FL MSTA board at http://www.flahsta.org .

Drop me a line if I can be of more help. Hope to see you on a ride soon!

Where in N. M. are you part time?

If you ever come through Amarillo and stop for a drink or food, hit me up if you like.

Hi John:

Welcome to the club...
I have more than 20 years living in Florida and 3 years without driving a motorcycle.
I am looking to buy a R1200C. I like long trips and I think it's a comfortable bike for that purpose.
In my youth I traveled the world in an old Indian Chief and just wrote a book with those two years of adventure in 26 countries. www.tracksandhorizons.com
I have 70 years and still wanting to travel by motorcycle.

Carlos.
