I need that name too. Got both front and rear rims on a pothole on my 2000RT.
Bent the flange about 3/16 inch out on one side of both rims. Forunately I have no radial runout, and the wheel held air. What are these rims made of?

I live in Ohio and I bent my wheel on a pothole on interstate 90 downtown Cleveland. I called Ohio DOT and whined.....they sent me the forms for a claim...paid the bill minus my deductable on my own insurance.Could'nt believe it. I actually broke even. ODOT said if it happens on a road they maintain, they're responsible...cool...

I have absolutely no information about this guy, but his ad in City Bike claims he straightens frames, forks, and wheels.
Personally, I'd be very cautious about straightening anything aluminum. BMW rims are said to be soft on purpose--so they don't crack. The trouble is, a rim might crack during straightening, and not show the fault. Remember, the guy who does the straightening isn't going to be riding your bike.
Anyone have any experience with cast wheels that have been bent and straightened?

I just had an aluminum wheel repaired on my son's Toyota Corolla here in Dallas from a company that repairs them for dealers and tire stores. The wheel had hit against an island at speed and put a good size ground out major dig on one side the rim. These guys fixed the wheel so that there is absolutly no way to tell it had ever been repaired. They can align a bent wheel and totally restore it to brand new even matching the original paint or finish. It's unbelievable! Their normal fee is around 100 to $125 per wheel and includes balancing.
You might want to give them a call and see if they can ship the wheel back after it's repaired. Normally they have the wheels brought to them from the various body shops in the Dallas area. They typically repair the wheels in just a day or two.

Yeah. This guy did a great job straightening out a bad pothole ding in the front wheel of my 96 RS. The wheel is as good as new, have ridden on it many years and thousands of miles since.

I did not have any luck getting in contact with this guy so I called the Woodford Co Sheriff's dept. and they told me he had died. I will ride to the address when I get a chance and see if they were right. Its a shame because I was told by a friend that he did a great job of straightening wheels.

The best price I have found so far is at Woody's Wheel Works, $100 per wheel and they do powder coating too.

From the stories I have heard, I wish I could have met Tim "Bondo" Bond and his Dad "Cash" Bond.
