Can you all tell me why I am not getting emails from my subscriptions?
I have tried two different emails and nothing. Checked and rechecked settings.
I was getting them before the site change.
Thanks , Mike 140149

Hi Mike, Most of the problems like this-and with the change-over in the spring-had to do with how your browser/computer accepted "cookies". Things seemed to get pretty sensitive to that. Hope that helps, check back and let us know how you are making out. Gary

Well, I was hoping. The next step would be to call the main office next week the # is in your ON magazine. See if you can talk to Jeff Betz, System Administrator. He's pretty clever in sorting this type of thing out. Try to be near your computer when you talk to him-makes it more effective. Good luck, when you get it to go-let us know. Gary

And you're going to the User CP link at the top and adjusting the settings in the Edit Options section? There are all kinds of check boxes to receive/not receive emails.
Under what circumstances are you expecting emails? From other people, from moderators?? Have you had someone try to send you an email? It appears that if you click on your username, it says to send an email to mfifer. If everything is working, someone should be able to follow that and send you an email.

Yep , I have tried setting and resetting all that. We have an internet based business and I belong to about 12 forums and I only am having trouble with this one now.
I may try calling but I also have full time job so hard to be here when folks are available.
Thanks Guys , Mike

Sounds like there might be a problem. A long shot would be if your have some kind of filter on your email box that for some reason is rejecting emails from the MOA. In those situations, emails get sent to the trash folder or even deleted straightaway without any evidence.
Might not be your case, but something to rule out.

Mike - if you end up calling - contact Jeff Betz at MOA headquarters.
Luis
I can think of two things that might do that.
First, under "Edit Options" on the left nav in the User CP you must have both the "Receive e-mails from Administrators" checked and the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to accept e-mails, either "Instant E-mail Notification", "Daily E-Mail Notification" or "Weekly E-mail Notification" (sounds like you want Instant.) I am not sure when changing this it re-applies to all current subs (matter of fact, I bet it doesn't) so in the Subscription page here (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/subscription.php) make sure the "Notification" boxes are checked for the threads for which you want notifications.
Second - you might have a spam filter and not even know it. A friend of mine recently discovered he had one when all e-mail to him started bouncing because he had unknowingly used up his whole disk quota - turned out to be a spam folder he didn't know he had and after talking to his service's tech folks, found he could only reach by logging into the mail server's webmail and emptying it by hand. ISP companies buy so-called blacklists from services that track spam on the web, often when a website moves servers it inherits a new IP address in a range previously used by a spammer and unfortunately the mail it now sends gets caught by services using that particular list. Also, some anti-spam services analyze traffic for spam patterns, and auto-mailers from forums often are mis-identified as spam.
If it is neither of these, there may well be a problem with the software (one I saw recently was a hard space after the address that caused the e-mail to bounce.)

I am finally back in business and getting emails . The problem was on the BMWMOA end. It seems they have an issue between the old and new programs that does not auto update the insersion of a new email address.
My case may have created a total fix of this issue.:dance

That's Great. And it's great to have a report back to know you're all set and now there is a representation of the problem. It will help members when they check here in the Online central and/or if they have to call the office. :thumb Gary
