I needed to replace several of the illumination bulbs in the instrument cluster and came up with a question I could not find an answer for in my manual or clymers.

I have a functional low fuel light that lights at a little less than one gallon remaining. When I removed the back of the unit, there is another empty slot for a bulb holder that would correspond to a second spot on the front under the "Low Fuel" label. Is there circutry for a bi-level warning on this bike? Would I gain anything from adding a bulb & holder to this slot?

The slot I am describing is the one second from the right at the bottom of the photo. The functional low fuel warning light is hidden behind the flex printed board.

I hope the photo's actually are attached. It's my first try at this.
Thanks,
Jim

The early K bikes had a two level light warning, I believe that around a half a tank the first light would come on, then the second when you were very low. The first was usually disconnected/by-passed by owners or dealers because you were always riding around with a bright yellow light glowing from your instrument panel. Very distracting. :brow
