Dookey, thanks for a lighthearted start to my otherwise drab day at work. I appreciate the gentle poke at people who take their cause or lifestyle too seriously. We could all benefit by lightening up about stuff and being more accepting of others' differences. :D
PS: I will eat ketchup and pickles on my burger, but I won't tear a screaming piece of lettuce from it's head to put in the bun.... I can feel its pain as I rip it from the the rest of its leaf brothers. :laugh

Does this mean that my unpasteurized, yeast-still-in-the-bottle homebrew is bad? :dunno

Not at all. You are their friend. Yeast continue to live as they pass through your digestive tract. You end up setting the little guys free back into nature. :clap

Great article Cliffy, you do great work. It scares me that I think so much like you sometimes.

Well said Cliff, I feel so much beer about my meatan life style.
I will use humanly killed salsa & taco sauce on a taco but not butchered “fresh” tomatoes.

A friend of mine once said " if God didn't want us to eat cows, he wouldn't have made 'em outta meat".

brad - you arent in san antonio are you?
i have a meat/plant question: i eat a lot of tofu. when i was a kid, i ate a lot of bologna and hot dogs. it got me thinking...is tofu the analog of bologna? i mean, tofu is essentially soybean loaf. discuss.

followed your link. ohmigod - i laffed until my throat hurt and my eyes made water.
tofo=bologna is zackly right. 60 minutes WAS going to do an expose on the way soybeans are tortured to make tofo, but Rather chickened out. actually the deal is they take all the diseased beans, the cut-outs, the ones with growths n tumors and missing plankton (?) and make them into tofu which explains the color and consistency thereof.

I don't think I have laughed that hard in ages. I am still wiping the tears from my eyes! I especially like the last page:
"Apologies. Really. There are many meals in the Gallery I've described in terms of inadvertant stomach evacuations, but this is perhaps the most vomitous dish I have ever seen. Just Rupe 'n' Heat!"
Thanks for sharing! I really need the laugh!!!! :D

Hysterical! I especially liked photo of the meat in a g-string. :p
A smart man responded to "Would you like a salad?" with "that's not food - that's what food eats."
