Hi everyone, just got my membership card. I have been riding Bmw's for about 4 years. My first one was a basket case 85K100 that I restored that I loved. I traded it for a 94 R1100RS and put about 30K on it--great bike. Then I traded it even for a 93 K1100Lt which I'm still questioning myself for doing although I'm beginning to like it better. Also bought another basketcase 85 K100RT for almost nothing that had been laying in the dirt for 5 years in the weather and I restored it. It had been wrecked with a busted fairing and I completely disassembled it and painted it, rebuilt brakes, refiberglassed the fairing, put in new clutch and rebuilt water/oil pump. I have everything fixed on it but an intermitten skip at idle which is driving me bonkers.

welcome to the club Scott. totally nice job on the K bike rebuild. i'm sure you're very proud of the work you did, as you should be.
your K11 is a fine machine, stupidly reliable, but probably not quite as "fun feeling" as the twin you had. both say "BMW", but they kinda do it in different languages.

I painted the K100 myself Pearl White. Sand blasted the wheels with very fine sand and painted them silver. Painted every piece of the bike. The K11 had been repainted before I got it.
