Hi all:

Just got my 2010 R1200RT a week ago, and got my Maryland MC endorsement a few days ago. (I rode alot 20 years ago) The new bike has 300 miles now. Looking forward to some long rides if I can improve the sore butt problem.

Using a turnabike centerstand turntable - only solution for my narrow garage and steep driveway.

Thanks, Russ

Looks like the new bike is a perfect fit for your garage. You will figure out what works comfort wise as you spend more time on the bike. Lots of options out there that make a difference. Welcome and enjoy riding!

check out the local bmw club, BMWBMW, (www.bmwbmw.org) there are lots of folks who can help you with local advise on where to ride, etc, there is even a discussion going on now about aftermarket seats as several folks recently got new machines and are having the same issues with seat comfort on the stock set up. Drop by a meeting or tech day (one up coming in Sept) to see some of the options available for seating and other farkles and how they were done.

a number of good after-market seats are available. I prefer Sargent. In the meantime, order a sheepskin butt pad from Aerostich or Alaska Leather. Either one is good, and may give you the relief you want without spending mega-bucks for a seat upgrade
