Over on the IBMWR board a guy complained of short bulb life with the Sylvania SilverStars. I've got six months and 13,000 miles on mine so far. What kind of life are you getting out of those bulbs?

I put a set of Sylvania SilverStars in my ford truck almost a year ago, at same time, I also put in some Sylvania Coolblue lights in my set of OEM fogs! Wow, I can see at night now!!!! So far so good. Sylvania lights are Keepers :thumb Now I will be putting the Sylvania SilverStars on the RT, head lights and fog! I allso have on the way FF-50s driving and PIAA 1200 fogs. :clap We have a big number of deer on the roads here, so I like lights at night! P.S. I put Sylvania Coolblues in my sons Jetta in late Jun and he loves them.

They run around $ 22 to $ 27 a piece. :cry Discount auto had a sale on them a while back and they ran around $35 for a pack of two bulbs. It is stil cheaper than $ 500 for HID's. :wave

Just go in to your friendly WalMart store, look in autos! They have good price on the sets! Something like $30 bucks I'm thinking is all :clap

There are "American" SilverStars and there are "European" SilverStars, and they aren't the same thing and you can easily guess which one is poorer quality.

I have the US version in my truck and in the bike. They are sooooo much better than stock that I dont care if they are from antarctica. I love the light frequency, I can see things much better. 16k on the bike bulb. 50k on the ones in the truck. They last well and I think are worth the money.

It's not a matter of "quality" as much as design. The American version has a slight blue tint which produces a whiter light. Because of the tint, the American version runs a little hotter and doesn't last as long. It also puts out slightly less measurable light.
