I'd like to know how to install an on/off switch on my r1200GS with the new single wire that won't screw everything up. Any help?

From another forum:
Did you know you can turn your R1200GS headlight off?
If you want it off in your workshop or doing ERC exercises, here's how you do it:
(1) With or without the engine running, press and hold the blinker cancel button for 5 seconds, and then release it.
(2) Then press and hold the right blinker button for 5 seconds. The headlight will switch off.
The light will resume normal function the next time you start the engine.

I can't think of anything else offhand other than when starting the bike on the centerstand, keep the kick stand up. The rear wheel tends to spin slightly and with the kickstand down it sometimes, on some bikes, confuses the ECU and kills the engine.
