Last week, I heard some guy refer to NASCAR as BUBBACAR! :D

I got a chuckle from it.

Honestly, Speed TV isn't even on my favorites list on the satellite remote anymore. Too much BUBBACAR :brow and other crap. I'll watch it for F1 and Moto GP but thats about it.
I'll miss the daily Dakar coverage too. But it would interfere with the rebroadcast of a race that ran months ago.......sad really. :dunno

I am disappointed. I even told them about it via their website. I encourage every one to do so, no matter how pointless it may seem at the time. If you say nothing, you guarantee that they won't expand the coverage next year.

Writing to OLN might help. I'm glad to hear you're doing that.

SPEED? I don't know. Motorcycle coverage has improved somewhat in the last year after their dismal start.

I am getting kinda tired of Bubbaracing on Speed. One gazillion laps in the SAME direction are BORING :snore :snore .
I want: F1, MotoGP and more Rally racing.
I guess that Budwi(p)(s)er isn't sponsoring any of that so we won't be seeing anything else I guess. :cry :cry

OLN is carrying some coverage. I found it by using the keyword "Dakar" and allowing Tivo to search all program types.

Speed does have world rally coverage on sometimes. I've seen on late at night on Sundays most of the time. It definitely kept me out of some of my morning classes on Monday. I love watching those guys fling those cars around the mountains crazy fast.

Finally! The race is over, but coverage starts tonight (January 22nd) on Outdoor Life Network. Looks like one hour each day for five days.

Coverage repeats for five hours in a row on the 29th.

IMHO, you guys need to learn to work a remote and a VCR. :stick
I get all the F1, WRC, WSB, AMA, ALMS, World Endurance Championship, GrandAM, Carrera Cup, 5th Gear, Victory by Design and Autorotica I need. And Nascar pays the bills for it, so even though I never watch it I'm glad MILLIONS of redblooded Americans do.

Yes, it's a shame that Speed didn't carry the same excellent coverage of Dakar that they have for the last couple of years, but I'd take a WAG that that has a LOT more to do with contract negotiations and money than a desire on Speed Channel's part to broadcast more Nascar re-runs. (Remember the ABC/Fox/Speedvision F1 disaster? It was all about Bernie and Money)

FWIW, the OLN network is starting to have some good moto-coverage. Dakar starts tonight, they broadcast all the Euro SuperMotard rounds (albeit tape delayed) and there's an OK program on weekly called "dirt rider" IIRC that's had some good and bad episodes.

For my money it's all a far cry from the coverage of the Indy 500 and 30 minutes of the Monaco GP on Wide World of Sports once a year that I grew up on.
