Currently I have my power outlets switched through a BMW on/off dash switch on my K75S. I find turning on my heated vest much easier now than the using switch that came on the Widder cord. (I removed the Widder switch from the cord.)

IDEA...
What if I replace the on/off switch on the dash with a BMW hi/off/low switch used for the heated grips.
{00 00 0 459 234 switch, heated handlebar grips/htd seat- $29.00}

Will this switch heat my vest to a low tempurature when switched to low?

Thanks in advance.

The heated grip switch is made to work with a relay and it's got some teeny little wires on teh back.

There's no relay in the heated grip system. The dash switch moves the current path from one part of the heated grips' wiring harness (which has some resistance wire in it) to another part (with no resistance wire).

David is absolutely correct... the heated grip switch changes the circuit going to the grips from a direct connection (high) to a connection with a resistive wire in it (low). This drops the heat about 30%.

A better suggestion for controlling auxillary heat such as heated gear is a HeatTroller (TM I'm sure). It allows for very exact setting for the heat you need and want. Once you have one - you're not going back to a plain switch.

Absolutely correct Don ! The link above will get you a " Heat Troller " ; and they are dropping thirty washingtons on an upgrade from " ANY " unit (their's or not ) AND it seems you can qualify without having ever had one.

Many different models : single, dual, bike mounted w/control cable & led, etc. They also have a superior BMW to coax or BMW to SAE cord.
