Although based in New England, I may well be up in Canada north of Ottawa near the Ontario/Quebec border the weekend before the '05 rally, and am considering meandering my way (in)directly from there down to the rally instead of going home first. I'd have Sunday through Thursday to spend getting there. Anyone have any thoughts about roads or areas to travel through or avoid? I'll be on a GS, FWIW.

Thanks!!

Anyone in the Southwest interested in accompanying me to the ralley is welcome. My intended route in North from Albuquerque to Canada across Canada to north of Michigan and South to Ohio. Contact me at inspnm@juno.com :twirl :D My spelling may not be correct, but I am sure everyone can read it.

Try 20 across Iowa if you want a northern route. Canada is just like that, you will see no difference from Iowa north. I took 20 a few years back, Everyone was on the Expressway, and it was rolling and had some nice towns. I made great time and thought it much better than slabbing it.

I go to a big Land Rover event most summers at Silver Lake Ontario, about an hour or so south from Ottawa. My favorite route is to cross at Kingston / Wolf Island / Cape Vincent and take the ferry. Take the 3 / 104 along the coast of the lake all the way to Niagara Falls. Hit the slab for 2 hours on I-90 and you are in northern Ohio...
