I took my gauge cluster off my K75 the other day to replace some burned out light bulbs and when I went to put it back on the bike I was unable to get the two bundles of wires that clip in the back of the gauge cluster to stay in place and there is no power to most of the lights, gauges, or gear indicator. In fact the only thing that is getting power is the clock.

I know I'm putting the wire plugs in far enough becuase I measured the depth of the socket in which they fit. I also know there is nothing wrong with the gauge cluster because I swapped it with the one on my dads K75 and everything worked fine.

Any ideas how I can get the wires to connect and restore power to my gauges?

Thanks!

Isn't there a small cover with a screw in the center which needs to hold the connectors to the pod? Did you forget to install that?

yes I did remember to put the cover/cap back on the back of the plugs. I also tightened the screw as far down as it would go.

It seems like maybe some of the individual sockets in the large plastic plugs might not be making contact with the pins on the gauges. Some lights in the gauge pod work while others dont. I do know that there is nothing wrong with the gauges though.

If I jiggle the wires the warning lights will flas on and off intermitently.
