So the Name for the 05 Rally is "Beemerville"? Urgh. Gotta say, "pass the cheese" on that one. That'll be a shirt I won't be buying.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. I haven't bought a rally shirt in about a decade. Is it right for a guy to walk around with a Tshirt that has a logo the size of a pie plate on both front and back? I try to live my life without ostentatious logos on my clothes, so flashy rally shirts don't do it for me.
I'd appreciate a polo shirt or something with a discreet logo on it, though. Let's face it. By the time most of us reach middle age, Tshirts aren't especially flattering.

I assumed we all bought those shirts out of desperation ("OMFG. It is HOT out here. Quick. Someone gimme the thinest whitest t-shirt!"). :dunno

The name is supposed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, and then take your atttention away from what is a flat boring area with nowhere to ride.

If you want to ride a couple hours, I can take you to roads just like at home, some even better. Nothing like a fast ride to get to the twisties.

Where I live now is right in the middle of the great riding though. I can be on twisties in 5 minutes, and to the good stuff in 20.

I have to learn the roads over there. It wont be as much like a roller coaster, but there are some good places to ride. I should be in the house by the solstace, and I will have anyone over who wishes to come.

Northeastern Ohio is like Kbasa's California in reverse. While the tube-steak boy has to watch out or be run over by canyon carvers, we have to be careful not run into the back of buggies. It's a real problem in Amish country, here.
I have a strong personal preference for both.
Loraz and I need to visit some of the spots in NE OH. I think he will be pleasantly surprised.
For those of you who might not like the name 'Beemerville', it sure beats 'Lima.'
Best,
Jim :hide

Keeping with the NAME theme.. Stupid name, ugly logo. Moving on....
Sad thing is that sitting here giving it some thought, I really couldn't think of anything jazzy for Lima, Ohio. On the upside the fairgrounds look really, really nice. I'll either be heading to NW Penna. / Lake Erie area after the rally, or hitting the home area before the big bash. LOTS of double yellow line roads..

Yeah, same here. I've been thinking about it all day and I couldn't come up with anything better than Buckeye Blitz.

name doesnt matter. shirt doesnt matter.
getting together with like-minded cool bmw enthusiasts matters.
camping someplace and having a good time matters.
staying up late cracking schwag jokes matters.
the rally will be good anywhere, with any shirt, and you guys know it. ;)

How about, "Why-Oh, Why-Oh, Why0h, Why Do I Have To Ride Ohio?" or "We Gonna Have-a Gooda Time-a In-a Lima"? Maybe: "MOA - Forlorn in the Corn". But my favorite is: "MOA - On The Straight And Double Yellow."
I saw the Fairgrounds, and it's gonna be fine.

I finally ditch that Bradford guy that followed me all the way here, and now this guy won't leave me alone. On top of that he isn't even wearing pants (and has nothing to be smiling like that about).

As of now, I am planning on attending vintage days the week before Lima and then bumming around. I have family in Michigan, including an uncle who is a fishing guide. Thinking seriously about making that side trip. If I had a local cat go to vintage days with me, I could put a bike in the back of the van and then send that person home with the parts load and continue on. Or, I could UPS any parts back home and do the whole trip on the 750. What to do,...what to do?

O.K. Jim, how about if I recruit the local parts Nazi's to take the van and I follow on my bike. Mid-Ohio is too big of an opportunity to not attend as a trader. Please reference my thread in --VINTAGE-- entitled "A kooky idea".

I am not the first person who has warned BoxxrGrrlie about the perils of demon rum (or Micro Brew, either). Here is a demonstration of just how a girl's appearance can degrade after a keg or two of the stuff:

Ok have you covered, I'll sign you up to volunteer for the Rally set-up committee. And if you do, I'll let you know my secret route to Lima from MidOhio. It'll take a couple days and make sure you plenty of tread on the sides of your tires.

O.K.,...O.K.,.....you got me.......I'll play. Send a personal message with details. I do not yet have confirmation on my vacation request, but I don't anticipate a problem. See you at Mid-Ohio, right?
