Got my December issue of ON today--another great issue.
In the "Windnoise" section (pg. 73) this is an announcement about a recall of '04 R1150RTs manufactured in April 2004. It has to do with "an incorrect sealing ring [that] was mounted to the piston of the rear brake master cylinder." It goes on to assure that "dealers will replace the rear brake master cylinder," and lists the 800 number for BMW NA.
My question is, how can I tell when my '04 was manufactured?
I have the BMW MOTORRAD MANTAGEAUFTRAG for my bike. It's written in German but has two dates:
F2 geplant: 19.02.04
and
11.02.04 followed by a time code, perhaps when this document was printed.
Both dates appear to be February of this year. I'll call the 800 number (or more likely my dealer), but I thought if any of you could shed some light on knowing precisely when a bike was manufactured, I'd love to know it.
Thanks. :uhoh
