Spline lube procedure

The Transmission is going back in (2002 1150RT) and will be lubing the clutch spline. What is the preferred method of applying the lube so it doesn't fling offf onto the clutch?

The Transmission is going back in (2002 1150RT) and will be lubing the clutch spline. What is the preferred method of applying the lube so it doesn't fling offf onto the clutch?

Apply the lube ONLY to the transmission input shaft - not to the clutch hub. Any excess on the shaft gets pushed back out of harms way. Any excess on the clutch hub gets pushed forward in line with a friction surface if slung.
