engine racing at idle?1200rt 09

I just took the right side plastic off the bike to install the j&m cb system. None of the wires or cables are near the throttle cables. Now when I start the bike and it idles for a sec at about 1100rpm then in a short while the idle starts heading up to 3000 +
I hooked the fuzblocks trigger wire up to the yellow and black wire runnin to the square box thats next to the diagnostic port.

I cant think of anything I did that would cause the idle to suddenly start climbing?

Wookie if you disconnected the battery during this operation you need to recalibrate the computer or whatever controls the throttle. Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Move the throttle to wide open and then closed a couple of times. Shut off the ignition and then start the bike in the normal manner. Idle should be around 1100rpm cold and settle to a thousand warm.

Check the throttle body cable hasn't been slightly dislodged by accident. Easy to do.. It happened to someone else who had just completed the same exercise as you.

Marty- tried your suggestion-no luck
Paul- the cables coming out of the throttle were moved some- but Ive put them back into place and jiggled and moved them around with no luck

I disconnect the trigger source of power to the fuzeblock to make sure that wasnt messing anything up- no help there either

Anybody else with ideas??????

Open and close the throttle, when doing this listen at each throttle body, you should hear a click when closing the throttle due to contact with the throttle stop.
You will hear a click on each side, if not that could be the problem, re-check the cable free paly.

Dealer found it- I had somehow dislodged a bracket or something to do with the cruise control. Prob should of found it myself- but alas I was worried bout my baby so that was a 1 hour cost.
