Rebuilt the carbs on my '82 R100RS over the weekend and now I have a choke problem.
I did one carb at a time so as not to mix parts.
The bike starts right off on one side, once it's warm the bike runs fine.
If a guy puts the choke shaft assembly in 180 degrees out, will that prevent the choke from working on that side of the bike?
I was looking at the exploded view from Bings site this morning and it looks like the opening on the choke disc has to be up.
I'm thinking thru this as I type but any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

Exactly, if you're out 180 the choke wont work.

BINGO!! That's the problem. Did the same thing the first time I rebuilt a set of Bings back in the mid 80's.

Snowbum discusses the orientation of the choke lever and has a few pictures:

the end of the choke shaft has a dimple towards one side, that dimple should be towards the large bump on the square casting..

Dimple?
Large Bump?
Wasn't mentioned.
You's guys are the best.
I knew I would get the answer here.
I'm pretty sure it the first one, have to check @ lunch.
When I was putting the first one together I kinda hesitated thinkin' "which way was this?"
Took pics of the second one before disasssembly.

Thanks.
