I'm thinking of buying a K1200RS, are there any inherent problems with these motorcycles. I've got some info on them on some of the threads here, is there anything else that I should know? Thanks to all that respond.

If it is a 1998 with low miles, make sure the fan recall has been done :)

Timing chain cover is notorious for leaking - it comes that way from the factory. It has to be redone. If you are looking at one, bring a flashlight and give it a check. It's about a $300 job at the dealer.

If you're coming off a K75, the thing I would warn you about is the K12's weight. Always make sure you have good footing. These beasts can and will bite if you are at all in a position of weakness.

The only thing I would say about a K1200RS of that generation is that , as far as I am concerned, my bike needs are fulfilled forever. They are great looking, evertything else is a copy, they are powerful, and incredibly nimble. Also, with the saddle bags and a 35 liter Givi top case in back, you can almost turn it into an LT if you need to. And YES, do look out for low speed drops!
