My R1100RS drips a small amount of gas from the overflow or the vent hose when I park the bike. Any ideas where that comes from? I read some previous posts and it sounds like it must be a loose clamp that is allowing gas to seep into the hose in the tank. Does that sound right?

There are two 'vent' lines inside the tank. One goes to the small hole around the gas filler cap and is there to drain water (or spilled fuel) from around the cap. The other is the gas tank vent. Your leak could be either from a loose clamp on one of the lines in the tank (unlikely unless the fuel filter has been recently serviced) or the lines themselves could be deteriorating, allowing fuel to seep out. The only way of knowing which it is, is to pull the tank and the fuel filter/pump plate.

Check the fuel lines coming from the tank. They dry out allowing fuel to leak at startup but once wetted expand enough to stop the drip until next time they are allowed to dry out, usually overnight. New lines or cutting the dry end off will fix it.

Thanks. I think looking at those lines is a good place to start. I'll do it.
