good morning everyone
I have an early 85 k100rs. this year I ordered and replaced my air intake to
throttle body bushings and throttle cable, found out this bike didn't fall under recall
(european model) so now waiting on correct bracket which gave me plenty of time to explore internet.I see they eliminated the vacuum switch on throttle body i'm going to
by pass mine my question is do you leave ground wire attached to throttle body?
Also found while adjusting throttle positioning switch my idle screw is .015 from touching anything dealer did tune up 2 yrs. ago they said everything fine but couldn't get to idle any lower (1100 rpm.). the intake manifods were very loose?
Finally my throttle position switch clicks right after first detent on enrichner lever
is that to late? thanks everyone this is a great site .

Yes - leave the ground wire attached.

Also found while adjusting throttle positioning switch my idle screw is .015 from touching anything dealer did tune up 2 yrs. ago they said everything fine but couldn't get to idle any lower (1100 rpm.). the intake manifods were very loose?

Check the switch that turns on the light for the fast-idle. There is a small metal ring that goes on the switch before threading it into the bracket on the throttle body. If the ring is missing - the TB will not close properly and you'll have the idle screw not touch as you are describing. I found that out when I left one off on my old '85 K. To test this - simply unscrew this switch. If the idle screw now touches - you've found the problem (good luck finding the ring.. it looks sort of like a small crush ring..) Oh - also - as I'm sure you noted - the throttle-position-switch can hold the throttle open if not adjusted correctly. It is adjusted to click JUST as the throttle starts opening.

thank you for your responce. I did drop that ring during rebuild that caused a little excitement but my problem came from poor tune up by dealer. the intakes were loose
once i got bike running i had to raise idle by 1/2 turn. next step to borrow buddy's
sync. set and adjust throttle bodys. again thank you for assistance.
