I am considering the installation of Works Shocks on my 04 1150RT. Has anyone had this experience? Looking for pros and cons of this mod.

Had a WP on my K11. well made shock, good quality for the $. with that said, i didn't keep it, as they only had 2 viable spring options for my weight (190#), the 600 (too soft) or the 900 (too stiff). so i sold it, and bought an Ohlins. much better performer, all the way around superior. on my R11S, i'm running an Ohlins in back (got a good deal on a used one) and a Wilbers up front. very happy with both shocks. the greater adjustability of either of these over the WP allows you to fine tune it to better match your riding style and comfort desires. i'd say that if $ is an issue, go for the WP. if $ is only a minor issue, go for the Wilbers (contact bikpainter, as he is a dealer for them, and offers good deals to MOA members). if ya really just want to spend the big bucks or have the greater poser factor going on, go Ohlins. however, in all honesty, i think the Wilbers are nearly as good for less $.

Whats wrong with the stock stuff? My 04 RT works great hauling my 260 lb self around, I couldn't imagine it working any better. Remember a wise man once said if it ain't broke resist the urge to fix it.

if you've never used aftermaket shocks, it can be tough to imagine how much better they are than the stock units. if you ever get the chance to ride an RT that's had a major suspension upgrade done to it - try it. then you'll understand.
