I attended the Sun-your-Buns rally put up by the Sunbeemers club in Florida. The whole event takes place at the Venice campground in Venice FL. :thumb The campground is located on the Mayakka river that flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Part of it goes around the campground creating a beautifull setting :D . The rally is basically a day and a half event starting on Friday noon time till Sunday morning.
I arrived on Friday afternoon and pitched the tent in a nice location, a little bit away from the water as a few mosquitos :cry were still around. The whole campground is covered by trees and they in turn have Spanish Moss covering them. At twilight, this gives the whole area a 'spooky' look to it.
On Saturday there was a poker-run, a 50/50 drawing, doorprizes and a skills event.
I decided to visit the Mayakka State Park on Saturday and boy was that pretty! Saturday morning there was a breakfast buffet(all you can eat), Saturday night we had all you can eat pizza, more beer, the awards ceremony and music. Sunday morning a coffee/donuts 'breakfast' and the ride was on to get home again.
All-in-all a nicely run event with great people in a beautifull part of Florida.
Oh before I forget, the weather was just perfect, with upper 50's in the mornings and mid 70's to low 80' in the afternoons :p

I'm already packed and looking forward to it! I'll be heading down on the Thursday morning, not sure if I'll do it in a "oner" or stop off on the way.

Cheers,

Split the difference - one of my most fun days was a cycle ride up to the Battenkill to play with the trout - decent fishing, great roads.

No question - ride to go fishing!

The rally was great!!:dance 151 people registered, There were several vendors, field events and rides. The temps at night were in the upper 30's and low 40's making it great to cuddle up in a warm sleeping bag. :snore after having warmed up at the campfire with a adult beverage.:buds
