View Full Version : Kick Stand issue

With the bike fully packed for a trip from Portland to LA, I stopped to get gas, attempted to set the kick stand and the bolt had come loose; the kick stand dangled by the two springs. At that point - I seemed to and indeed did have all the necessary parts and so I did my best to reassemble it and tighten up the connecting bolt as best I could with an open end wrench.

By the next gas stop - the same thing happened, except this time the kick stand fell onto the ground and there was no connecting bolt. I'm about to order parts - - the missing "pawl" #46531454247, the connecting bolt (for which I cannot find a part number on the Real OEM, or Bob's BMW sites, and one of the springs that is bent - also not listed.

Question #1 Did I err in not getting the bolt torqued down properly - or should I have used Loctite Red in the threads ???

Question #2 Can anyone help me out with actual BMW part numbers?

Thanks much!

Sorry - forgot to mention it's a 1990 K75 RT.

It would appear you need part #11 and part #13. You also might need the bushings listed under part #11 if those fell out (#10 & #19)

Question 1: Yes it wasn't tight enough. I use blue Loctite. Red isn't needed but blue works well here.

Question 2: Lee answered this one.
