My /6 is shown at the top of this thread with the bags that came with it:

Anyone know what type they might be?

They have been removed and I would like to sell them, but I don't know how to describe them!

Thanks,

Peter.

I should know as they are the same kind that came with my first /5 but it's been years since that bike has gone on to another owner, what I do remember was that by drilling a hole in the bottom of one of them it made a handy beer cooler! :bliss

Hmmm, one of them has a hole in the bottom - perhaps they are your old ones :)

Must be. I'm sure no one else has ever thought of such a nefarious plan! :D

Could they be Buco bags?

That sound vaguely familiar, with the emphasis on Vaguely!

Buco - never heard of 'em.

I just did a search on ebay and found nothing similar. A few Harley style throwovers and that was about it.

I presume if there aren't any on ebay, they must be super rare and worth thousands then ;)

Buco was a popular seller of motorcycle related gear, including helmets, jackets and luggage back in the 1960's. I'm not sure when they went out of business (or 'if", since there are still Buco leather jackets being sold. I found someone on the net who had sold his 1965 Buco catalog.
Anyway, the link below shows a Honda with Buco bags.

I think there were several companies which made similar-looking luggage...mostly for Harleys.

I had a set of Buco bags on my 1971 R75/5.I thought the retro look was entirely in keeping with that bike.I even stuffed an old Windjammer fairing and Fiamm horns on it,before I sold it .

I have another set of Buco bags that are very similar to the ones on the Honda shown off by Tom McIntyre;and in fact,I had a Honda that was very similar to that one too!!Mine was a Honda Super Hawk,a 305 cc twin that was actually fiercely fast and reliable, though butt ugly...I bought it to replace the Bonneville some bas***d stole from me.

Well dang, if that doesn't bring back some fond memories! Honda "Dream" sickles........(and they say /5's were rubber cows, try riding fast on a stamped steel frame machine.. Weeeee!)
