Not sure how to begin. My 2008 R1200R has place just in front of the right foot peg where there appears there should be a cover. This area has a screw in the middle with three screws evenly spaced around the perimeter.
A purported BMW schematic by Bike Bandit shows a cover in this location, called a Cover for Telelever, Milled and Bike Bandit sells this part for $33.25. Yet the telelever is not in the location indicated by the schematic.
This expensive piece of plastic is described by Bike Bandit http://www.bikebandit.com/2008-bmw-motorcycle-r1200r/o/m18065
At exactly the same place on the left side, there is a plastic cap covering what I assume to be the same types of screws. Bike Bandit calls this a covering cap, and sells it for $4.50.
Does your R1200R have such an expensive piece of plastic just in front of your right footpeg? I called the dealer and was informed that there is no cover designed for that location, but they may not want to mess with such a small part, especially if it is a warranty issue. This dealer service department is not well recommended in this area.
Appreciate any information!
