Florida Winter Rally

The Florida Winter Rally at Camp Blanding, Fl sponsored by The NE Florida BMW Club was held 15>17 Jan, 2010. The cold front that had gripped Fl for almost 3 weeks ended on the 15th. Attendee's numbered just over 500 and enjoyed Brats & Hots along with sauerkraut & baked beans on Fri and Steak, baked potato, green beans , baked beans, texas toast, and a variety of desserts Sat evening. There were many door prizes and a lucrative 50/50 drawing after the Sat evening feast. Seminars on camping and advanced riding skills along with other topics were held on Fri & Sat. Fridays weather was excellant, Sat had intermittant showers during the day and heavy rain and wind Sat night. Sun turned out to be a very nice day for breaking camp and traveling back home.

One of the best rallies you will ever attend. A lot of hard working dedicated folks put out a great amount of effort to make this a smooth running rally. The accommodations are super and the food is excellent. As a bonus, there is the bottomless cup of beer for $5.00 available at dinner time. Yes, it is winter, and yes it always rains, but so what. Just enjoy the trip.

Thank you BMWNEF and all of the volunteers for another fantastic Winter Rally. I pitched my tent next to Airhead Central, what a good group of friends to visit with over the weekend.

The food was fantastic, cold beer, decent weather for winter time, and a great ride down and back from Atlanta.

I was ready to get home after the wind beat up Sunday on the super slab.

2010 is off to a good start.:thumb
