Hello; I heard a story about a fellow who visited the caribean and saw a gas powered blender. I wonder if anyone else has any experience with this great idea. Apparently it is run by a little alcohol fueled IC engine with a little pull start. The fellow who told me the story didn't get his hands on it, he just drank the Margaritas it made.

I just have to have one of these. cause you never know when or where you might need a margarita.

A tuner friend of mine has one of these.... ported, polished and full expansion chamber.

Definitely takes both hands on the Pro-taper bars! It flat cranks out the margueritas!

saw one in person at the Auburn car auction earlier this year. At first I thought it was a joke or something they had rigged up but that was not functional. WRONG. these folks are serious margarita drinkers and it cranked 'em out. i believe it was purchased at Cabellas.

Ross had one at the Cro Mag campout this year. I don't know who brought it but I think Ross purchased it on the spot. It had a little two stroke engine. We used it to grind up the coffee beans. My wife later told me that was a no no. I guess the taste remains on the blades ? Anyone for Coffee flavored Margarita's ?

Your wife is right (of course). You shouldn't use the same grinder (blender... whatever) for coffee and spices, etc. The blades (although metal) do retain the scent of what is grinded.

No... a coffee flavored margarita does not sound appealing. Far better is a fine martini or a smooth Southern Comfort Manhattan.

Note to fans of the MARGARITA: FORGET THE GAS-POWERED BLENDER IDEA! Just bring your cordless workshop drill - CHECK IT OUT! (http://www.boatblender.com)... :thumb

Now here's a woman that knows what a fine beverage is all about, though I'm more of a real bourbon in the Manhattan kind of guy.

Always used a specialized tool for the function. I have two blenders at home, one in the bar and one in the kitchen. Good alcohol needs to be kept pure... :thumb

I saw a picture of one in "Latitudes and Attitudes" magazine where this fella:

1: took a garbage disposal.
2. Mounted a 5 gallon Gott cooler on top
3. Had a tube injecting the alcohol into the dishwasher inlet.
4. Tap on the dischage dipensing the margaritas.....

I may try to make one this winter.... :hungover
