I was looking for some rotors and went to a site from another post http://www.perfectbrakes.com/products.asp?cat=4675 and noticed the rotors they offer look diff, no buttons ($260ea). I emailed to confirm they were oem replacements and they said yes.
Anybody know anything about this?
My rotors are floating, do these work okay or possibly the pics just show another rotor for advertising purposes and I have to buy buttons?

I have no experience with EBC, 'tho I've heard of them. The EBC website has a larger picture: http://www.ebcbrakes.com/motorcycle_brake/pro-lite_replacement_rotor/prolite-image.shtml The rotor does look floating to me, although the rotor pictured has nine buttons compared to the BMW stocker's twelve. The pic you linked to on the PerfectBrakes site shows a twelve button rotor. The PerfectBrakes pic shows the rotor, buttons, and center mount...I'd guess that that's what they'd ship...but I'd sure ask to make sure.
My bike's rotors are at their wear limit after 102K, and I bought a used set from Beemer Boneyard that will be installed at the next service.

Thanks Dave. You are right. I wasn't looking close enough, I see those buttons now.
I might just slap another set of pads and go another 10K or so....sometimes I really wonder about some of these service recommendations, it's not like we're in aircraft. I really bet you could double everything listed, except oils.
However, the $260 ea sure beats 400+ from BMW.

i'm running the ebc pro-lite's on my 99rt. also have ebc HH pads and spiegler ss lines.
hands down best improvement for the money on the 1100's.
if your factory rotors are jangling around, you may have a very serious problem that will grow exponentially fast. the rotor will start misshaping and cutting into the thin aluminum buttons. then the carrier and rotor start getting hammered.
if your carrier and rotor are still good you can buy all the 144 attachment parts individually. also not cheap and it still won't be as good as the ebc

Thanks Daniel.
They are jangling around, feel loose. Grabbing the buttons reveals some movement, when they should be stable too. I'll probably go ahead and get them. My rotors look good, but below 4.5 mm, however my mic won't go over the wider edge and can't tell exactly w/out correct mic.

Grab your rotor and try to rotate it front to back. If there is play, then you need new buttons. Side to side play is normal (that's why they are called "floating")
Many folks have been satisfied with buttons they bought from MotoBins and you can check it out HERE (http://www.motobins.co.uk/displayfinal.php?q=278&s=1&subs=278&title=BRAKE%20DISCS%20AND%20BRAKE%20PARTS)Delivery seems to take a little over a week.
