I was wondering if anyone out there produced a skid plate for the K75? I was thinking that it could use the mounting holes the the engine crash guards use (holes near the oil pan). I know that most people will never take their K75s offroad, but my cross country trip will likely included some less than perfect roads.

Does anyone has some pros/cons of this idea? Does the K100 and K75 share the same engine crash bar mounting holes? In the end it shouldn't be too difficult to fab up.

Just went to look on RealOEM.com at the mounting brackets (46712315668 (Bracket) and 46712303068 (Rubber Mounting)) that the crash guard use to attach to the bottom of the engine and it looks like they are the same for the following models:

K100
K100LT
K100RS
K100RT
K75/2
K75C
K75RT
K75S
K100RS
K1100LT

So, seems as though one skid plate could be made to fit all those models.

I would wonder, instead of crash bar mounting points, if the ones which were used for the mounting points for the K75S chin spoiler might be in a better position? I believe all the K75 engines has the mounting bosses/points for the spoiler. It would just seem that these would be in a better position for a skid plate. Unsure if they would be as robust of a mounting boss as the crash bar points though. Worth checking out. Can't remember what the rear K75S chin spoiler o mount attached too though, I think further back maybe on the transmission or the center stand?

Good thinking. I totally forgot about the belly pan. I'll check on it this weekend. I hope to take a look and mock something up out of cardboard soon.
