First of all make sure your battery is fully charged, and is the correct one for the bike. this might sound silly, but if someone replaced the battery with a cheap Wal-Mart or auto store battery your ABS will not work right. your owners manual has a list of flashes for the ABS lights. this will tell you where to look. I've been getting a ABS alternating flash for the last couple of weeks on my 99 RT. time for a new Battery. If you didn't get an owners manual with the bike, you should order one...

Ill check the battery, it was replaced but might be a wallys you never know until you go under the hood. What is the minimum volt for the battery?

look here: http://www.2zars.com/ohfaq.html and also follow the link in those FAQs to the tech articles.
Also, see Anton's ABS2 articles on his site: http://www.largiader.com/ his article pretty much steps you through the faults and resetting.
A weak battery will give you the correct readout of both lights flashing together after the ignition has been turned on, but will switch to an alternating flash as you crank the engine (with the voltage drop). See the "Fault 5 - Low battery" fault on Anton's site.
NoVA? - go to www.bmwbmw.org site, navigate to the forums, and see the info re: Sunday's meeting and tech day, at Battley's in Gaithersburg. You'd be most welcome in person & you can introduce yourself on the forum too.
