I am new to the world of BMW, I bought a '06' GT with just over 7,000 miles on it.

I signed up at the IMS show in Dallas and just got my package today :D

I started ridding a Cushman in the late 50's then Honda 150's in the mid 60's, my last bike was a Yamaha V-Star 1100.

This coming spring if I can get the time off work I want to do the Big Bend and Hill Country here in Texas and then see where this mile muncher takes me :heart

Welcome aboard from another oldtimer. ;)

I bought my first BMW bike just five weeks ago and am really enjoying it.

Howdy to you too! Glad you're here. You'll enjoy that bike. Wish I were in the Big Bend/ Hill Country right this minute! I have been to some of the hill country but never on a bike. Something I'd like to do someday.

Welcome to the forum. Since you're a DFW guy, you should check out Lone Star BMW Riders (LINK) (http://www.lonestarbmwriders.org/). We meet monthly at Humperdink's on Hwy 75 just south of Campbell. The next meeting is on Dec 21st at 6:30 p.m. Also, there are a lot of plans being put in for numerous rides next year, and one of them is a Big Bend ride from March 24-27. LSBMWR also has a yahoo forum at Lonestarbmwriders@yahoogroups.com. You'll need to set up a yahoo email account to participate.

So, check out the web site, come by a meeting. The dues are pretty cheap and several spots in the Dallas area, including the Richardson dealership and MotoLiberty give discounts to club members.

Take it easy, and enjoy your GT!

Welcome super8!

I think the TX group is slowly catching the Wisconsin & New England members. Look thru the Ride Reports sub forum for lot's of Hill Country and Big Bend reports and ideas. You have a great touring machine and quite the rocket. Enjoy!

Welcome to the family. Another TX member! Seems like a lot of new members have been from TX lately.

Check out the Chartered Clubs in your area.

A pix of your new bike would be great.

Thanks for the welcomes guys, I am just north of the big airport and have been to breakfast with the charter #26 folks several times but I may step over to the Big D side so I can say Hi to y'all and I will be doing some of Bo's breakfast rides up north too. :eat

I will get a pic of my ride when soon if this weather straightens up a bit so I can get some nice sun shine. A great looking bike deserves the best you know :D

Those are nice rides to CJ's in Whitewright. Bo does a great job finding excellent riding roads in an area not known for its motorcycling roads. Check out his web page for days and dates (LINK (http://www.bogriffinrides.com/)). The next one is on Sunday, December 20th.

Two rides you won't forget. Hill Country is just plain fun. Big Bend makes you feel very small when experiencing the vast expanses of West Texas. You know those roads that seem to run forever only disappearing when they reach the horizon -- there's a few out that way. Unforgettable.

Welcome to the forum -- you'll find lots of great information about your chosen ride.

Yes he does find some out of the way places, I met Bo through the MTF and met the bunch up there for breakfast, wanted to do the cookout in OK this year but had to work.

I would like to see him give the low down on his big trip south, I have seen post about it and it sounds great.

I hope to make one of the two BMW rides in the Hill Country after Easter, one is BMWMOA and the other is I-BMW, they are one week apart, maybe I can do both?? :D
