Anybody got a source for EBC brake shoes for a '78 R100/7? Bob's has had them on back order for a while, and Motorcycle Superstore has them back ordered as well...

Shoes, as in rear drum brake? A good brake shop should be able to put "modern" brake linings on the old shoes. Try Vech at Bench Mark Works (http://www.benchmarkworks.com/) if nothing else.
Or pads, as in front disc brake?:)

Maybe he stops like Barney Rubble and really is looking for good brake shoes?
I see lots of that type in my MSF courses. :brow

Check with Motobins in the UK.
Never mind...EBC are not listed for ATE calipers any more...they only show OEM.

I just got a pair of EBC shoes for my rear drum brake from Max BMW in NH. I really like the quality of service from Max BMW.

P.S. EBC are ~$65 for the pair. OEM BMW are $65 per shoe.

According to the confirmation e-mail, I have a set of these coming across the country at the moment:
EBC Organic Brake Shoes 1 $48.69
http://www.bikebandit.com/ebc-organic-brake-shoes?mg=5804&t=1&td=1
from BikeBandit.com. These are for a 1988 R100; just navigate to the 1978 listing to see whether they have what you want.

Nice remark about the Barney Rubble shoes, Mike! Actually, I had a leak in the left fork leg which was blowing oil back on the disk and pad and using my feet might have been more effective than the front brake. Just got new wrapped brake line and replacement copper washers for the fork legs. Hopefully that will increase my braking ability from "hopeful" to "good chance". I'll check with Max BMW in hopes of helping a dealer rather than aftermarket...and yes, OEM Shoes (not pads) are twice what EMC shoes are.
